I want it to be known that, unlike the ‘Big Trip’, we are
NOT stopping at every ice-cream shop we see. Give us credit – we are a little
wiser and more health-conscious than 6 years ago. But I will say that B.J.s had
a sale on Haagen Dazs crunch bars – 15 for $11.99 and they did find their way
into my basket. For the record, I only bought them because of the sale price.
They sell for $3.50 - $5 individually.
Ted’s favorite … well, that and any ice-cream that tastes like coffee. Sometimes this blog makes me feel like I’m
going to confession.
It was a beautiful day for walking, touring, grabbing bites or sipping a cocktail at charming outdoor cafes, and seeing the sights. I love that everyone is bi-lingual.
It feels like I am in another country! And I AM!!!!
We gave in and decided we had to go to the Taco Fest. Note the yellow sign. Who runs out of tacos at a "Taco Fest"??? |
Terrific Musicians |
Cafes all the way down the street. Wonder why we don't have that? |
Wedding taking place on the bow |
Food trucks and picnic tables |
Ted wanted to see another nearby marina so we walked over
and were surprised to see this lovely marina – Old Port of Montreal and Clock
Tower BEACH! But no access to any water
from the beach. I guess it’s an
excellent place for non-swimmers!
Thanks to Miles (Miles Aweigh) for the Inspector Clouseau
picture.
And a few years ago, Anne (Idle Time) sent us a picture of Fred McDade from “Despicable Me”.
Do you think the Inspector and Fred resemble anyone we know and love?
Earlier today, we were talking about the ‘bad day’ when the wind took the boat – and
me – away from the dock, Ted said “Wow, it’s a good thing the boat is okay.” Does anyone else see a problem with that
statement?
Nautical information … Boat Bites: The following is a picture of a ‘boat bite’. A ‘boat bite’ can be large or small, a gash or
a bruise. One usually does not know the source of a boat bite or when they got
it. It is any infliction made by or on a boat. Of course Ted is more worried
about THE BOAT getting a ‘boat bite’.
Ted decided to stay another night here in Montreal. We were originally scheduled to leave tomorrow. There is
just too much to see. We are fortunate they are letting us stay a 4th night as there is a
boat show here on the Tuesday the 3rd and the boats will start moving into the
Basin tomorrow. We will have to relocate to another slip though tomorrow
afternoon. We have scheduled a tour for tomorrow. It is a hop-on, hop-off tour. Wait till they see me “hop” – it will take on
a whole new meaning! Rain predicted.
For anyone still interested in commenting: We are sorry for the angst it is causing. I have to write the blog in one browser (I
use Chrome) but must do my replies in another browser (Explorer). And I have to sign into Google for every
reply! Grrrrrrrr. We do greatly appreciate hearing from those who are
contacting us via messenger/Facebook or email saying that are enjoying.
Still worried, as I am sure you are, about Dorian, its
velocity and its path. Hopefully you who
are affected will let us know when it has passed and you are safe.

So enjoying your post. We pour subjects left here at the marina went to the Eagles tribute band concert tonight at Bonnie. Soo much fun. Hope you and the Capt. have a great Labor day. Dont complain about those small boat bruises, I've had much worse! ๐๐
Would have loved to see the concert ... sorry we missed it. And yes, we KNOW you've had much worse boat bites ... there could be a whole other blog about that!
Okay, Ted here. Still trying to resolve the comments issue.
I've changed the way comments are left to a popup window. try it now.
You still must choose your google acnt, anonymous or name/URL (not sure what that is)
FYI, we have seen comments from both google and anonymous.
I also read that some people, while experiencing problems with the Chrome browser were able to leave comments using Explorer or Firefox.
Good luck.
Test by Betty to see if Chrome works for comments. Now I see there is a 'not a robot' box.
Test by Miles to make sure I can still comment. Hope that didnt get screwed up. Rainy night and morning here on dock but is clearing up and I know it will be a great day. Every day is what you make it.
